Perfusionist
Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical perfusionists operate circulation equipment during medical situations when it is necessary to temporarily and artificially replace the patient’s circulatory or respiratory functions. This occurs during heart surgery and similar operations. Perfusionists also control the temperature of patients during surgery. Their duties include:
·        Operations heart-lung machines
·        Administrating some types of anesthesia
·        Administrating some types of medication
Salary: $50,000
Educational Requirements: A high school diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry is required to be accepted in perfusionist training programs. Administration preference is given to students with college science work or experience in respiratory therapy and medical terminology.

Perfusionist training programs are given at academic health centers and medical schools and universities. They emphasize hands-on, practical training. Course length varies, but for school to be recognized by the American Academy of cardiac perfusionists, the curriculum must include the supervised performance of 150 producers to include 20 pediatric and infant cases.

Duties and Responsibilities: Healthcare administrators direct and manage hospitals and other healthcare facilities. They are responsible for long-range planning, financial administration, materials management, purchasing, public affairs and patient administration. Small hospitals may have only one administrator may have only one administrator, while larger facilities may have many. Some administrator, while larger facilities may have many. Some administrators specialize in specific fields like patient administration or purchasing.
Average Salary: $35,000 - $10,000
Educational Requirements: Students should take challenging high school courses in business, science, math, and English. Most healthcare administrations hold master’s degrees in healthcare administration or business administration.

Orthotist
Duties and Responsibilities: Occupational Therapists help patients who are mentally, emotionally, or physically disabled adjust to handicaps and regain abilities to preform daily living and self-care skills. They work as part of a team with physicians, counselors, and physical therapists. Occupational therapists design therapy programs and work closely with parents to observe them, help them, and monitor their progress. They frequently design special equipment to aid patients and help with their therapy. They also teach patients how to adjust to work and home life after becoming disabled by injury or illness. Most occupational therapists are employed at hospitals, and many work at nursing homes. Some work at hospitals for the handicapped, rehabilitation centers, or at adult daycare centers.
Average Salary: $26,000 - $45,000
Educational Requirements: Students who want to become occupational therapists should take the most challenging high school math, science, and English courses. All states require either a bachelor’s or master’s degree that includes clinical experience and successful completion of a national examination to become a certified occupational therapist.
